Houmongi is worn in variety of occasions from wedding ceremony to party, omiyamairi ceremony (a custom to visit a shrine with a baby to pray god for healthy grow up) and shichi-go-san ceremony (a custom to visit a shrine when girls reach the age of 3 and 7, and when boys reach the age of 3 and 5 to thank god for growing up healthy) by mothers. Houmongi is available to both married and single ladies, and worn in wide range of occasions.
